By high school, college or professional standards, Jackson Flanagan went the distance.

The junior right-hander and staff ace for the Menlo Knights held the rival Sacred Heart Prep Gators scoreless for nine innings before Ben Salama’s walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth gave Menlo a 1-0 win in the opener of the two-game series between Atherton rivals.
